5.2
"Mechanical" Safety Devices
5.2.1
Protective screens
Screens and casings have a duty to protect the operator's face and torso, and even the work
piece, from coolant, chips, splinters or tool fragments, which do eventually detach. The
screens are fixed or mobile.

Both interlocking movable guards, are equipped with suitable micro-safety switches,
connected to the machine's control system (electric circuit), so that the opening of the gear
casing or the spindle screen causes the motor to stop and the motion of the spindle, gears
and all the other dangerous moving parts to stop.
Checking the Safety devices
Each time the Lathe is used, check that the safety devices function and are positioned
properly.
In case of damage and/or breakage, do not use the machine.
