5 - USING THE FEATURES
5.1 EZ Pull™ Leg Control Handles

Purposee:
Unlocks the legs nearest the handle, allowing the cot to
be lowered.
●
Usee:
The EZ Pull handle (Figure 7) allows the operators to operate
the handle before lifting the cot so they can grasp the cot with
both hands and lift evenly. For complete instructions, see “Using

Lowering the cote:
Operators pull both control handles at the
same time, then lift the cot to take the weight off the locking
mechanism. The leg-status indicator will change to red and the
cot can be lowered. See “Leg-Status Indicator” on page 14.

Raising the cote:
The leg control handles are not used. The
operators simultaneously lift the cot main frame until the cot
locks at the desired height.

During loadinge:
The Control-end Operator uses the control-
end handle when loading the cot into an ambulance.
Notee:
If the cot is equipped with the Smart-Load™ automatic leg-release
option, the control handle is not used when loading the cot into an
ambulance. See “Smart-Load Automatic Leg Release” on page 21.
5.2 Leg-Status Indicator

Purposee:
Indicates the status of the leg lock.
●
Usee:
The indicator, located inside each control panel (Figure 8)
changes automatically when the leg control handle at the same
end of the cot is used.

Greene:
The legs are locked.
○
Rede:
The legs are unlocked (the leg-control handle has been
pulled) and the cot may be lowered or loaded into an ambulance.

Always maintain your grasp on the cot until you verify that both
legs have locked at the new position.

Important
The leg-status indicator displays the state of the undercarriage
leg lock:
GREEN = Locked/Safe
RED = Unlocked/Ready to Lower or Load

Green: Legs Locked
