Using the Features
Smart-Load
™
Overview
When a cot equipped with both loading-end
and
control-
end Smart-Load™ leg release mechanisms is loaded into an
ambulance, the following sequence occurs:
1. The operators begin loading the cot into the
ambulance.
2. The weight of the cot on the loading wheels unlocks
the loading-end legs for folding.
3. The operators continue pushing the cot into the
ambulance
while balancing and supporting the
remaining load
when the loading-end legs are
unlocked.
4. The loading-end legs fold and automatically unlock
the control-end legs for folding.
5. The operators finish pushing the cot into the
ambulance and secure it in a Ferno® fastening system.
Important
Do not hang a defibrillator or other object on the loading-
end main frame. Objects hanging from the main frame could
activate the leg-release mechanism.
