5.13 Telescoping Handles (Optional)

Purposee:
The optional telescoping handles extend to aide the
operator to lift and carry the cot. The handles lock in three positions
(Figure 23):

Fully retracted
○
Middle (about 5 in/125 mm)
○
Fully extended (about 9 in/225 mm)

Usee:
Press the button on the end of the handle (Figure 24) and push
or pull the handle to the desired position. Release the button and
pull or push the handle until it locks. Use the telescoping handles
only when they are in a locked position.
Using the Features
5.14 Telescoping Side Handles (Optional)

Purposee:
Operators or helpers use the side handles as extra lifting
or grasping points.
●
Usee:
Pull to extend the handle. Push to retract (Figure 25).

Grasp the cot main frame with one hand, using an underhand
grasp. Grasp the side handle with your other hand, using a
cylindrical grip.
○
When lifting, balance the cot by placing one operator or helper
on each side of the cot and lift together, using both handles.
