Important
If the legs do not unfold as the cot is removed from the
ambulance, check the leg lock. Push the cot back inside the
ambulance, release the lock, and start the unloading process
again. Do not force the legs down.
Using the Features
5.11 Intermediate Loading Wheels
●
Purposee:
Reduces the amount of lifting required when loading
the cot into an ambulance and when unloading the cot from an
ambulance.
●
Usee:
The intermediate loading wheels (Figure 21) are passive aids
and do not require any action on the part of the operators.
5.12 Leg Lock (Optional)
●
Purposee:
The leg lock secures both cot legs in Bed Position 1 or
Bed Position 3. This allows the cot to be lifted without the legs
extending. Use additional help as needed to carry the cot. See
“Using Additional Help” on page 7.
●
To engage the leg locke:
1.
Both Operatorse:
Raise or lower the cot to Bed Position 1 or Bed
Position 3. See “Cot Positions” on page 10.
2.
Control-end Operatore:
To engage the leg lock, pull the blue leg
lock lever toward the control end of the cot (Figure 22).
3.
Both Operators (and Helpers, if needed)e:
Lift and carry the cot.
See”Carrying the Cot” on page 29. Set the cot down when you
reach the destination.

To disengage the leg lock,
the control-end operator
pushes the
blue leg lock lever toward the loading end of the cot (Figure 22).
