4.2 Installation with an MCBL 07002
29
Dr. Fritz Faulhaber GmbH & Co. KG provides a Starterkit, which contains the necessary compo-
nents to put a micromotor into service immediately. These are chiefly a control of the current
supply, switch and speed regulator of the drive controller, plus an RS232 serial interface driver.
A description of the MCBL 07002 is given in Chapter
5.5
.
Proceed as follows:
1. Install the module in the MCBL 07002, if this has not already been done. The socket for the
drive must be projecting out from the MCBL 07002 casing.
2. Connect a microdrive to the small three-phase microsocket.
3. Turn all four knobs on the MCBL 07002 anti-clockwise, back to the end-stop.
All settings are now set to zero. The three small potentiometers on the module
(on the casing of the MCBL 07002) are all deactivated, with the exception of the voltage
setting (output voltage 1).
4. Connect a 7V supply, capable of delivering a current of at least 500 mA, to the power sockets.
5. Turn the dial which is labeled “Ramp“, about a quarter-turn clockwise; this corresponds to
an acceleration of about 1 500 1/s
2
.
6. Turn the two “Speed“ dials in each case about one eighth of a turn to the right, which
corresponds to a rotational speed setting of 3 000 – 4 000 rpm.
7. Set “Output voltage“ to 800 mV
eff
; this corresponds to a half of one revolution.
8. Press the “Start/Stop“ button. The drive will stop and will then accelerate once again.
9. Move the “Left/Right“ switch backward and forward. The drive will change direction.
