Programming
The 8720 programs detectors and devices for the
MPC-6000/MPC-7000 System and the MPC-1000/
MPC-1500 System.
6000/7000 Detectors and Devices
In MPC-6000/MPC-7000 systems, the 8720 is used only
to set the address of detectors or devices. The other
configuration data such as ASD settings, usage, and the
type of the inputs on the 8801/02/03/04, are set by panel
programming tools, such as the CIS-4 tool.

Refer to Figure 2 on pages 10-11 to connect the
device to be programmed.

At the Main Menu press PROGRAM. The display
will be a screen similar to the following:
PROGRAM X1 DEVICE
LOOP=1 ADDRESS=111
<LOOP ADDRESS>
<EXIT PROGRAM>

Press LOOP. The cursor will appear under the loop
number allowing the user the option to change the
loop setting by using the numerical keypad.
The loop number will only appear if the 8720 has been
configured for label printing.
The maximum loop setting displayed is 4. If any number
greater than 4 entered, “incorrect entry” will be displayed.
