INSTALLATION
This chapter defines the installation process that only covers the DDS
servo drive system itself.
The previous chapter already described how to connect the DDS system
to the power lines.
8.1 Location
The type of considerations to bear in mind when placing the DDS servo
drive system and run the cables must be:
Environmental
Mechanical
Climatic
Electrical
Cooling
Environmental considerations
It must be installed where:
There are neither corrosive gasses nor explosives.
The atmospheric conditions are favorable.
It is not exposed to oils, water, hot air, high humidity, too much dust or
metal particles suspended in the air.
Mechanical considerations
To secure the modules, use the holes and slots made for that purpose.
Vibrations should be avoided. If necessary use securing means made of a
material which absorbs or minimizes vibrations.
MANDATORY.
Only qualified personnel who know and understand the
contents of this manual and all the other documentation related to this
product and have been properly trained on this safety subject to recognize
and prevent existing risks, are authorized to work with this servo system.
Only qualified personnel may install, set up, repair and maintain this
equipment.
NOTE.
It is entirely up to the installer to take care of these matters!
MANDATORY.
The DDS servo drive system that will usually include the
safety controller is identified as a fixed installation meant to always work
inside an electrical cabinet (enclosure) whose protection degree is IP 54
or greater. Note that the start button, the E-stop button and other ele-
ments may be installed outside the electrical cabinet (enclosure). The
units must be installed vertically. Only maintenance personnel may ac-
cess the electrical cabinet.
