Cleaning
WARNING:
Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals
for cleaning the non-metallic parts of the tool. These
chemicals may weaken the materials used in these parts.
Use a cloth dampened only with water and mild soap.
Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any
part of the tool into a liquid.

Lubrication
Your tool requires no additional lubrication.
MAINTENANCE
Your FACOM hand tool has been designed to operate over
a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.
Rivet Application (Fig. A. —E)
1. Select correct rivet length for your application.

3. Drill a hole that matches the rivet thickness through the
materials you intend to rivet.
4. Insert the rivet pin

into the hole of the workpeice and
ensure the rivet head

is flush with the workpeice.

in the open postion, place rivet mandrel

into the nose piece.
6. Ensure rivet pliers

are perpendicular with the workpeice
as shown in Fig. E.
7. Squeeze the handles

together to the closed position to
install the rivet to the workpeice.

9. To empty the mandrel storage cup

, unscrew from the
pliers and dispose of rivet mandrels in an appropriate dust bin.
10. Screw the mandrel storage cup onto the pliers until snug.

OPERATION
CAUTION:

Replacing Nose Pieces (Fig. A, C)
1. Select appropriate sized nose piece

desired size rivet for your application.
2. Hold the adjustable head with one hand, use the other
hand to turn the nose piece counterclockwise wtih the nose
piece wrench

. Remove the installed nose piece from the
adjustable head

of the rivet pliers.
3. Start to thread the desired nose piece onto the adjustable
head

of the rivet plier.
4. Use the nose piece wrench

, and turn the nose piece
clockwise until tight.
5. Keep nose pieces not in use stored safely in the four
nose piece storage holes

nOTE:
Nose pieces are removed from storage by rotating
the nose piece counterclockwise and installed in the storage
holes by rotating the nose piece clockwise until tight.
Setting the Adjustable Head (Fig. B)
For best results it is important to adjust the head of the rivit
pliers to match the rivet size for your application.
nOTE:
Factory setting is for 1/4" (6.4 mm) rivets.
1. If you want to use 3/16" (4.8 mm) rivets, use the nose piece
wrench

to remove the nose piece on the adjustable head

2. Then rotate the adjustable head

180 ° anticlockwise to
use 3/16" (4.8mm) or smaller rivets. Install appropriate nose
piece onto the adjustable head.
3. Rotate the adjustable head

180 ° clockwise to use the
factory setting of 1/4" (6.4 mm) rivets.Install appropriate
nose piece onto the adjustable head.
