2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Have the gas hearth installed by a qualified installer in
accordance with local and national (fire safety) regulations.
- The hearth is set up on a concrete floor. If there is no concrete
floor a foundation should be put up from the creeping space.
- When building in a hearth you should take care that there is an
open joint of about 3 mm around it with respect to the expansion
of the hearth when heating.
- Insulate the hearth with ceramic insulating material.
- Be sure the room in which the hearth is installed has sufficient
ventilation.
- Check the gas supply and the exhaust pipe for leaks.
- Have the chimney cleaned every season. Ensure that the chimney
is operating properly before using the hearth.
- Check that the thermocouple circuit is operating properly and
that the hearth lights properly.
- The open gas hearth is intended as a decorative hearth only.
- Never place flammable materials or trash on the burner.
- Do not use the gas hearth to warm objects.
- This equipment has an open flame and becomes hot during use.
Keep this in mind when children are in the area. Never leave the
hearth burning unattended.
