7.3 CONNECTION OPTIONS
The Multi-Vent system can be connected in the following ways:
1) through the wall, with or without a horizontal run;
2) through the roof, with or without a horizontal run;
3) through an existing chimney.
7.3.1 Wall venting with no horizontal run
If the wall vent passes directly through the wall to the
outside after a minimum of 1 meter of vertical extension
pipe above the hearth, additional calculation is not needed.
In this case, the maximum vertical pipe length is 10 meters.
7.3.2 Wall venting with horizontal run
First make a drawing. Calculate the horizontal pipe length
and the total length of the supply pipe needed.
Note!
All bends are added to the horizontal length.
7.3.3 Roof venting without bends
If there is a vertical exhaust without any bends:
the maximum height measured from the top of the
Multi-Vent Built-in Gas Hearth is 12 meters. No additional
calculation is required.
Use the order form to find the correct roof vent unit.

7. MULTI-VENT SYSTEM
7.1 PIPE DIAMETER
The Multi-Vent system has standard sizes for its intake and exhaust
pipes. Non-standard sizes are not permitted. The diameter of the flue
gas exhaust pipe is 100 mm. The diameter of the concentric air intake
pipe is 150 mm.
When installing the system in an existing chimney, this means using
a ø 100 mm flue gas vent pipe
(for example a flexible stainless steel pipe). The chimney intake must
be at least ø 150 mm.
7.2 MAXIMUM FLUE LENGTH
The maximum resistance determines the pipe length permitted.
The maximum pipe length permitted is 12 meters. A maximum of 8
meters of this length may be horizontal. All bends are included as
part of the horizontal length.
- A 90-degree bend corresponds to 2 meters of pipe.
- A 45-degree bend corresponds to 1 meter of pipe.
Remember
that you must have at least 1 meter of vertical vent pipe
above the hearth before any horizontal vent.
