CATEGORY SAFETY WARNINGS
The switch and clutch levers must move freely,
they must not need forcing and should return
automatically and rapidly back to the neutral po
-
sition. The engine stop switch, choke and speed
levers (where applicable) must easily move from
one position to the other. The electric cables
and in particular the spark plug cable must be in
perfect condition to avoid the generation of any
sparks, and the cap must be correctly fitted on the
spark plug. The machine handgrips and protection
devices must be clean and dry and well fastened
to the machine.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Make sure that you use appropriate and certified
personal protective equipment when operating
the product. Always wear hearing protection gog-
gles and dust mask. Clothing which does not ham
-
per movements, protective gloves, dust mask,
ear protection and safety boots with non–slip
soles will help prevent or reduce injuries. Never
wear scarves, necklaces or any hanging accessory
and clothing that could be caught in the product
during its operation.
MOVING PARTS HAZARDS
Moving parts can cause serious injury. Avoid con-
tacting such parts when they are still in motion
and make sure that you keep anything that could
be trapped in the operating product, such as ex-
tremities, loose hair and clothing, away. Do not
touch the moving parts before they come in com-
plete stop. Use only the specified handles on the
product.
Rotating parts can cause serious injury, avoid con
-
tacting the rotating parts when they are still in ro-
tation. Never put your hands or feet underneath
the chassis of the lawn mower while the engine is
running and always walk behind the lawnmower.
Check for correct alignment of moving parts or
other failures that could be a source of danger. A
damaged guard or other part should be replaced
by an authorized service center before operating
the product.
FIRE AND BURN HAZARDS
Some parts of the product get hot enough during
operation to cause burns and ignite flammable
materials. Do not touch hot parts in order to avoid
getting burned. Let the product cool before sto-
ring it.
The fuel and its fumes are extremely flammable.
Potential sources of fire or spark should be kept
away at all times. Refuel only outdoors, in a we
-
ll-ventilated area, with the engine shut off. Allow
the engine to cool if the product has been in ope-
ration. Do not smoke near the product or any fuel
and oil. Make sure that there is some distance be
-
tween any spare fuel tank and the product. Make
sure that any and all spilled fuel and oil has been
wiped off before starting the engine.
Do not direct the silencer and therefore the
exhaust fumes towards flammable materials.
Do not use the product in areas with high risk of
fire. If a fire occurs, use an appropriate fire extin
-
guisher.
POISONING HAZARDS
During operation exhaust fumes are produced
which contain poisonous carbon monoxide, an
odorless and colorless gas. Breathing carbon
monoxide can cause nausea, fainting or death
in minutes. Early symptoms of carbon monoxide
exposure include headache,fatigue, shortness of
breath, nausea, and dizziness. Continued exposu-
re to carbon monoxide can cause loss of muscu-
lar coordination, loss of consciousness, and then
death.
To avoid carbon monoxide poisoning follow these
instructions:

Operate only outdoors and well ventilated areas
and never in a confined space where dangerous
carbon monoxide gas can build up.
f
Do not inhale fuel fumes and always wear appro-
priate protective equipment when handling it.
f
Always store fuel and oil in approved containers.
FUEL AND OIL HAZARDS
Fuel and oil are toxic and flammable. Follow the
instructions provided by each manufacturer befo-
re use.
Make sure that there is some distance between
any spare fuel tank and the unit, to prevent un
-
necessary danger. Refuel only outdoors in a we
-
ll-ventilated area with the engine off. Do not refu
-
el during operation. Do not overfill the fuel tank.
Never smoke near fuel. Keep sources of fire and
spark away. Always store fuel in approved contai
-
ners. Make sure that any and all spilled fuel and
oil has been wiped off before starting the engine.

This machine was designed and manufactured for
cutting grass by mowing e.g. in lawns. Any other
use differing from the above mentioned ones
could be hazardous, harm people and/or damage
things and the machine.
IMPROPER USE
The machine must not be used for:

for mowing hazardous materials

for the transport of the cutting material except, of
course, the grass bag intended for this use
f
for leveling ground irregularities
f
for cutting branches and bushes
f
for cutting grass near curbs

not limited to:

uses, or use of accessories in a way not intended in
