Appendix: Controlling the display through Ethernet
Overview
To control the display via an Ethernet (LAN) connection, the following steps
need to be performed:
1.
Check whether your display has the Ethernet option installed
2.
Assign an IP address to the display
3.
Connect the display to the local area network (LAN)
4.
Use the Windows PC to control the display

NOTE
Controlling the display through Ethernet is recommended for experienced
users only. Technical knowledge of your local area network (LAN) and/or
assistance from your system administrator may be required.
Locating the LAN connector on your display
The EYE-LCD-4600/5500/6500-OPS can optionally be equipped with a RJ45
Ethernet port that can be used to control the display via a local area network
(LAN).
To determine whether you display is equipped with this option, check the
connector panel in the rear of the display, as illustrated below.
1.
If the RJ45 connector (as indicated with the arrow) is marked “LAN”, then
the Ethernet option is installed.
2.
If there are two RJ45 connectors marked “RS485 IN” and “RS485 OUT”, then
the Ethernet option is NOT installed.
