Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Extech Model DT200 Laser Distance Meter. This meter
measures Distance up to 35m (115’) and calculates Area and Volume. In addition, the DT200
includes a laser pointer for accurate targeting. This meter is shipped fully tested and calibrated
and, with proper use, will provide years of reliable service.

Safety Instructions

This meter has been designed for safe use, but must be operated with caution.

WARNING: Do not directly view or direct the laser pointer at an eye.

Low power visible lasers

do not normally present a hazard, but may present some potential for hazard if viewed directly
for extended periods of time.

Laser classification (Class 2)

The DT200 produces a visible Class 2 laser beam from the top of
the instrument. Do not stare into the laser beam or direct the beam
toward anyone’s eyes. Eye protection is normally an automatic
response (‘blink reflex’, for example).

Warning:

Do not look directly into the laser beam using optical

aids such as binoculars or telescopes. This can create a hazard.
