Changing SIM cards
SIM cards are located inside the communications module which is accessed by removing the side
plate RH (or the entire back cover for older robots). To change SIM cards:

Remove the 6 screws that secure the enclosure front to the enclosure back (Picture 1 below).
▪
Gently pull the enclosure front off the back taking great care not to damage the flame paths
(Picture 2). If a flame path is scratched or dent
ed the robot’s Ex certification will be invalid.

Pull out the status indicator board. (Picture 3).
▪
Press the front of the existing SIM. (Picture 4). It will spring out of its holder.
▪
Insert the new SIM.
▪
Re-install the status indicator board aligning its pins carefully (Picture 5). Do not misalign the
pins (Picture 6).
▪
Gently push the enclosure front onto the enclosure back taking care not to damage the flame
path. Also ensure that the O Ring is correctly seated (Picture 2).
▪
Re-install the 6 screws securing the front to the back enclosure and torque them to 7 Nm with
a calibrated torque wrench.
