5 Setting the Emission
Wavelength/Frequency
The T200S provides the following operating modes:

SWEEP mode
This mode enables you to perform continuous sweeps over the entire operational
wavelength or frequency range.

TUNE mode
This mode enables you to tune the laser by entering fix emission wavelength or
frequency values.
Defining General Emission Settings
This section explains how to configure the wavelength/frequency emission settings that
apply to all operating modes.
Defining the Spectral Unit
You can define the spectral unit you want to use for all operating modes in the Settings
window, as explained in the following procedure.
To set the spectral unit:
1.
In the T200S task bar, touch the button to display the Settings window and select
the Instrument tab.
The Units area enables you to configure the spectral (and power) units.
2. Set the spectral unit you want to use by selecting
nm

GHz
.
3.
Touch the button to exit the window.

MPORTANT
The entered wavelength/frequency is only applied if the laser is enabled. If the
laser diode is turned off, you can still enter the wanted values but the laser cannot
sweep. To turn on the laser diode, see
Enabling/Disabling the Laser Output on
page 39.
