It is always recommended to backup your critical data. Always make sure you
have a fresh copy of your critical files on a separate hard drive. B3 has an inte-
grated backup function that enables you to make backup of your important
files stored on B3.
For backing up data from your PC to B3, read chapter “Backup from your PC to
B3” on page 114.
For backing up B3 user accounts, email accounts and all other important set-
tings, read chapter “System backup” on page 48.

Features:
• Incremental backup
• Schedule backup jobs as you like
• Store backup jobs locally (USB, eSATA) or remote (SSH, FTP)
• Encrypt your backup files automatically
You find the backup function, logged in as administrator, in the menu “Backup”.
The backup function will perform a full backup the first time a job is run. The
next time (the same job is run) it will perform a incremental backup and will
only save the files that has been added or changed.
Tips
• Perform a backup of B3 settings (described here: Administrator section Set-
tings) to save your backup job settings.
• For maximum security: combine RAID (chapter “RAID” on page 96) and a fre-
quent backup job!
