Care and Maintenance
NOTE:
Cleaning of the steam oven should be carried out on a regular basis to prolong the life of this
appliance.
• Do NOT use steam cleaners to clean this oven.
• Do NOT use cleaning solvents with strong acidic or alkaline properties.
• Do NOT use sharp impliments or glass scrapers on the glass door as this could scratch the surface and
cause possible shattering of the glass.
• Following use, removal of excess water can be acheived by use of the suction ball supplied by
depressing the ball, placing nozzle into the water and releasing the grip on the ball to draw the water
into the ball and then discard water into a bowl or kitchen sink by squeezing the ball.
• As noted on page 14, wiping out the oven after use to remove excess water is necessary to ensure
the surface and surrounds of the light remains dry. This will also ensure food odours retained in any
residual water will be removed. Care during this process needs to be taken as the interior will still be
hot.
• Regular removal of the oven accessories and side racks should be carried out to remove any food
partilces and grease and oil spatters. Refer to section
Removal of Side Racks
to see how these are
removed.
• When cleaning the control panel and front of the steam oven do NOT use cream type cleansers as this
may scratch the surface. Using a soft cloth with warm soapy water is recommended followed by a dry
soft cloth to remove any possible streaks.
• Periodically clean the water tank. Using warm soapy water and soft cloth wash the exterior and interior
of the water tank. Use of a nylon brush may be required to clean the interior. Do NOT use cream type
cleansers as this may scratch the surface of the tank.
• Every 3 months the Steam Generator should be descaled ensuring prolonged life and performance of
this and its associated components of the steam oven. Refer to the section
Descaling the steam oven
on how this procedure needs to be carried out. This procedure may need to be undertaken more often
depending on the water quality/hardness in your area.
NOTE:
Depending on the water quality/hardness in your area descaling should be carried out at least
every 3 months to maintain the performance of the steam generator and associated components. We
recommend using a descaling product like Hillmark ScalexPlus or similar when doing this procedure.
Follow the manufacturers instructions of the descaling product regarding the quantities to be used.
• Remove water and add descaling product to the tank, then half fill the tank with clean water. Refit water
tank to the steam oven and close the door.
• Press
P
until you reach the descaling programme
and the descaling icon
will be displayed in
the main display screen. Press
Start/stop key to start the first cycle of the programme. At the end
of the cycle the audible alarm will sound and the
water tap icon will be displayed on the right on the
main display screen.
• After hearing the audible alarm, remove and half fill the tank with clean water, refit into the steam oven,
then press
Start/stop key to restart. Again after the audible alarm sounds repeat this procedure for
a third and final time which at the end, descaling is complete. Clean the water tank in warm soapy water
to remove any residue.
