CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Always switch the appliance off, remove the battery pack and let the appliance cool down
before performing inspection, maintenance and cleaning work!

Cleaning
1. The appliance must always be kept clean, dry and free from oil or grease. Remove debris
from it after each use and before storage.
2. Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure safe use and prolong the life of the
appliance.
3. Inspect the appliance before each use for worn and damaged parts. Do not operate it if
you find broken and worn parts.
4. Never allow fluids to get into the appliance.
5. Clean the appliance with a dry cloth. Use a brush for areas that are hard to reach.
6. In particular clean the air vents after every use with a cloth and brush.
7. Remove stubborn dirt with compressed air (max. 3bar) if necessary.
8. Do not use the chemical, alkaline, abrasive or other aggressive detergents or
disinfectants to clean this appliance as they might be harmful to its surface.
Maintenance
Before and after each use, check the appliance and accessories (or attachments) for wear
and damage. If required, exchange them for new ones as described in this instruction
manual. Observe the technical requirements.
Replacing the trimming spool
NOTE: there is a spring inside the housing. Ensure it does not get lost.
Replace the trimming spool when it is empty or worn.
1. Switch the appliance off and remove the battery pack (23).
2. Turn the trimmer head (12) upside down.
3. Press the spool holder (17) on the top and latches (22) on both sides of cover (21) to
disengage the latches (22) from the cap (15).
4. Remove the cap (15) together with the trimming spool (19).
5. Clean the inside before inserting a new trimming spool (19) of the same type.
6. Lead the trimming line (18) endings through the eyelets (16) on the both sides of the
cap (15) and place the new trimmer spool (19) in position.
7. Check and make sure the spring (20) and spool holder (17) are in place.
8. Refit the cap (15) onto the spool holder (18), and press the cap (15) until the latches (22)
are properly engaged in position.
9. Ensure the cap (15) and the trimmer line (18) are correctly fitted before use.
WARNING Only use the trimming spool and accessories specified in the instruction
manual and get from the Service Centre.
