9. Operation modes/ setup
9.1. Configuration and operation modes (models master/with integrated control functions)
The operation mode is dependent on the results of the risk analysis. Based on the degree of protection required, the system
can be configured for automatic or manual operation.
The function of the device can be defined by applying signals to the pins. The following table shows the signals that can be
applied.

9.1.1. Manual operation mode
The safety outputs FO1A and FO1B react to the status of the device. If the light beams are interrupted, the safety outputs
shut down. The machine movement is stopped.
Once the protected area has been cleared, restarting must be initiated manually. The restarting of the machine must be
confirmed manually using a push button or a command on the input K1/K2 Restart.
DANGER
Severe injuries or death due to the machine restarting.
Ì
The item of protective equipment shuts down the machine if interrupted.
In this state the danger area can be entered undetected.
(Usage as trip device as per EN 61496)
Before manual reactivation, make sure that there are no persons in the danger area.
9.1.2. Automatic operation mode
Important!
This operation mode is only allowed to be used in special cases.
Ì
The safety outputs FO1A and FO1B react to the status of the device. If the light beams are inter-
rupted, the safety outputs shut down. The machine movement is stopped.
Ì
Once the protected area is cleared, the safety outputs are activated automatically and normal op-
eration established (after 2 seconds). The machine starts automatically.
DANGER
Severe injuries or death due to the machine restarting.
Ì
If the protected area is interrupted, the safety outputs shut down. Once the protected area is
cleared, the safety outputs are activated. The machine is restarted automatically.
Make sure that the automatic operation mode matches the safety level required by the risk analysis
and is allowed to be used.
