7. Mounting
Transmitter and receiver must be positioned while maintaining the minimum safety distance S. It is only allowed to be possi-
ble to reach the danger area after stopping the hazardous machine movement (see Figure 8 ). The safety distance for light
grids and light curtains must be calculated as per the following chapter.

The minimum safety distance S is calculated based on the following formula:

the start of the detection area and the start of the danger area

Ì The minimum safety distance must be maintained because otherwise the protective function of the
device will not be ensured.
Ì If it is possible to access the danger area without interrupting the protective field, a movable safe-
ty guard is to be provided in addition.
