8. Maintain the speed of the engine at the level required to perform the cutting work. Never raise the speed of
the engine above the level necessary.
9. If grass gets caught in the blade during operation or if you need to check the unit or refuel the tank, always
be sure to turn off the engine.
10. If you strike a foreign object or if the machine becomes tangled, immediately stop the machine and check
for damages. Do not operate the machine if some part is broken or damaged.
11. If the blade touches a hard object like a stone, immediately stop the engine and check if something is
wrong with the blade. If so, replace the blade to a new one.
12. Stop the machine immediately if it suddenly begins to vibrate or shake. Inspect for broken, missing or im-
properly installed parts.
13. When you finish cutting in one location and wish to continue work in another spot, turn off the engine and
turn the unit so that the blade faces away from your body.
14. Keep the machine as clean as possible. Keep it free of loose vegetation, mud, trash etc.
15. Make sure there is always good ventilation when operating the chainsaw as exhaust gases contain lethal
carbon monoxide. Never run the engine indoors!
Safety precautions for transportation
1. Make sure the blade cover is in place.
2. When transporting by vehicle, fix the unit firmly using a rope or straps. Do not transport by bicycle or motor-
cycle as this might cause dangerous situations.
3. Never transport the machine on rough roads for long distances without first removing all fuel from the fuel
tank, otherwise fuel might leak from the tank.
4. When carrying the chainsaw,
the chain should always be
pointing backwards as in fig-
ure A. When carrying the
hedge trimmer, the blade must
be in the transport position as
in figure B.
5. Never transport the machine
nor set it down with the engine
running. An engine that’s run-
ning could be accidently ac-
celerated causing the blade to
rotate.
Safety precautions for maintenance
1. Perform the maintenance and checking operations described in this manual at regular intervals. If any part
must be replaced or any maintenance or repair work not described in this manual must be performed, con-
tact an authorized service center.
2. Under no circumstances should you ever take apart the machine or alter it in any way, otherwise the ma-
chine may become dangerous.
3. Always be sure to turn off the engine before performing any maintenance or checking procedures.
4. Always use thick and durable safety gloves as well as proper tools and equipment when sharpening, re-
moving or attaching the blade. Never modify the blade in any way, and never replace any parts with im-
proper ones. Only original spare parts and accessories may be used in repairing and servicing the ma-
chine.
5. When replacing the blade, some other part, oil etc., always be sure to use only products which are de-
signed to be used with this kind of machine.
WARNING! Never modify the machine in any way. Modifying the machine or failure to follow in-
structions will void the warranty.
