When transmitting on a paging channel (Type 99, if
programmed), the PTT button must be pressed
twice. The first press takes the radio out of
Selective mode. The second press keys the
transmitter for normal transmitter operation.
HOME CHANNEL OPERATION
A Home Channel feature is available if programmed
into the personality. This can stand alone or be used
in conjunction with Emergency GE-STAR. If Stand
Alone Home Channel and Emergency GE-STAR with
Home Channel are selected, then the same channel
must be selected as the Home Channel.
1. Press and hold the
button for more than
1-second. The channel number on the LCD will
change to identify the Home Channel. Pressing
the
button for less than 1-second will be
considered inadvertent, and switching to the Home
Channel will not occur.
2. Within 5 seconds press another button to confirm
the Home Channel selection. If another button is
not pressed, the KH will revert to the channel
defined by the Channel Select knob. The KH will
remain on the Home Channel until the Channel
Select knob is moved to a new position.
