AIR DELIVERY SYSTEM

IMPORTANT:
A pressure gauge on the fan motor’s inlet indicates the hydraulic pressure.
Under no circumstances should the hydraulic pressure on the hopper fan exceed 15 MPa.
IMPORTANT:
The fan speed should never exceed 4500 rpm, due to the risk of the explosion.
METERING UNITS
As mentioned before, the Air Carts are supplied either with single outlet metering units or dual
outlet mixer metering units. On the single outlet metering units each pintle cog feeds product
into a single airline, where on the dual outlet mixer metering unit the product fed from a single
pintle cog can be split into the upper and lower air lines. Metering units with dividers allow for
fertilizer to be mixed into the seed lines as a percentage of the total calibrated amount (0-100%).
IMPORTANT:
The upper air lines are designated for seed and lower air lines for fertilizer. Seed
may not be fed to the lower air lines except during the calibration process which is explained
later on.
A detailed layout of the dual outlet mixer metering unit with its main components is shown
below. The single outlet metering unit is very similar to the dual outlet mixer metering unit,
however due to its simpler design it has fewer parts.
Relief valve
