Appendix: Configuring the Epygi SIP Server
Quadro’s Internet telephony is realized with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), requiring a
SIP address to establish IP calls. This address is analogous to a phone number in the te-
lephony world. By default, the Quadro registers on the Epygi SIP Server with all four exten-
sions plus the auto attendant so these can be reached from the Internet with numbers that
are unique to each Quadro device. Each Quadro does this automatically once it is provi-
sioned on the Internet. The Quadro is shipped from the factory with this default SIP address
configuration.
If you wish to create your own dialing plan for a group of Quadro units and create a private
SIP directory using the Epygi SIP Server, follow the process below.
•
The extension and related information are created on the Epygi SIP Server.
•
The SIP Number and Authentication Password are then entered on the desired
Quadro device.
•
The Quadro device will then register with the Epygi SIP Server.
Please Note:
In some cases, the Quadro units will be shipped preconfigured from the fac-
tory with the Support login and password. If this is the case, an information sheet is in-
cluded in the Quadro shipping box indicating the username and password to access
Epygi’s Online Support and the Epygi SIP Server.
It is recommended that you plan your extensions prior to configuration. This is especially
important if you have more than one Quadro and you plan to create a private group of us-
ers. Careful planning will facilitate the setup on the SIP server and the individual Quadro
devices. The Epygi SIP Server uses eight digits to assign numbers to extensions. The first
five are given by the server when a user registers and cannot be changed. The last three
are user defined. This gives the user the ability to plan the extensions. As an example, we
assume the five digits assigned by the Epygi SIP Server are 44444. If a user has three
Quadros, then the user can plan the extensions as follows:
•
Quadro 1 has extensions:
o
44444100 for the auto attendant
o
44444121 for PHONE1
o
44444122 for PHONE2
o
44444123 for PHONE3
o
44444124 for PHONE4
•
Quadro 2 has extensions:
o
44444200 for the auto attendant
o
44444221 for PHONE1
o
44444222 for PHONE2
o
44444223 for PHONE3
o
44444224 for PHONE4
•
Quadro 3 has extensions:
o
44444300 for the auto attendant
o
44444321 for PHONE1
o
44444322 for PHONE2
o
44444323 for PHONE3
o
44444324 for PHONE4
