Cleaning the Printer
The printer needs only minimal cleaning. If you notice a
decline in print quality, clean the inside of the printer as
described in this section. You should also clean the printer’s
outer case every few months.
Whenever you dean the printer or replace components, print a
test sheet by pressing the printer’s reset button.
CIeaning the inside of the
printer
Fine particles of paper dust and ordinary dust can collect inside
the printer. Follow the steps below to clean the inside of the
printer:
1. Make sure the printer is turned off.

Open the printer’s front cover.
Warning:
When you open the printer or remove the toner cartridge,
you expose components inside
the
printer that can be very
hot. Avoid touching
the fuser area,
which is located
immediately above the
toner
cartridge when you open the
front cover, and the motor, which is further inside the
printer.
3.
Remove the toner cartridge.
