Connect your VGA2Ethernet device as described in
“Connecting and Powering on a VGA2Ethernet Device” on
.
To record video files using VirtualDub
Now that you have downloaded and installed all the required
software, the video source is functioning, and the VGA2Ethernet
is connected to the video source and the video capture
workstation, you can use the following steps to record video files
with VirtualDub.

Start the VirtualDub application.

From the
File
menu select
Capture AVI
.
VirtualDub changes to Capture mode.

From the VirtualDub
Video
menu select
Compression
.

Select the video codec to use for recording captured images.
For example, if you have installed the ffvfw codec pack you
can select
ffvfw MPEG-4 Codec
. You can also configure the
video codec from this dialog.

From the VirtualDub Device menu select the VGA2Ethernet
device.
The default name is
VGA2Ethernet #<serial_number>
where
<serial_number> is the serial number of the VGA2Ethernet
device for example
VGA2Ethernet #V2E2147483647
. You can
use the Network Discovery Utility to change the name of the
VGA2Ethernet device.
After a short pause the images being captured by the
VGA2Ethernet device appear in the VirtualDub window.

From the VirtualDub
File
menu, select
Set Capture File
and
specify the name and location of the video file to be created
when you start capturing images.

From the
Capture
menu select
Capture Video
to start
recording captured images as an *.avi video file.

To stop recording, from the
Capture
menu select
Stop
Capture
.
