The burner may need to be removed for a few reasons, including cleaning under the burner, converting
the unit to a different gas type, or to replace the burner altogether.
Proceed only w hen the unit has
completely cooled down.
Refer to Figure 23 and the outlined steps below.
1. Remove the cast top, cast front and glass door as outlined in the two previous sections
2. Remove the log set in the reverse procedure as shown in S

3. Unscrew the four (4) side screws retaining the burner tray using a
T20 screwdriver
and remove the
burner tray by first lifting it up over the pilot shield and then out of the firebox.
4. Unscrew the two (2) rear burner screws using a
T20 screwdriver
.
5. Unsrew the front burner bolt, located in the middle of the front row of burner holes, using a
5/32”
Allen head
screwdriver or wrench.
6. Slide the burner to the left to disengage it from the venturi box then lift it up and out of the firebox.
With the burner removed it is recommended to inspect for any loose fasteners or signs of leakage.
Note,
some burner warpage is normal after prolonged use. Now is also a good time to vacuum out any loose
burner media or debris from the firebox. To re-install the burner follow steps 1-6 in reverse.
When re-installing the burner be sure to properly engage it with the venturi box prior to installing any
fasteners.
Note
, the front burner bolt only needs to be hand tight,
DO NOT
cinch down or use a drill
when re-installing.
