Installing the argon humidifier
The argon humidifier is suitable for the analysis of samples with a high salt content. By
humidifying the carrier gas the argon humidifier prevents that salts crystallize inside the
nebulizer or injector, blocking it. In addition, it improves the stability of the signal and
the recovery.
The carrier gas, argon, flows via a membrane coil through deionized water and is satu-
rated with water vapor on its way. With the help of the bypass valve (3 in Figure 22),
the argon humidification can be switched on or off without needing to disconnect the
hose lines.
