Reassembly and Resealing Gas Accumulation Relief System
Glass Frame Assembly and Combustion Chamber
Whenever the glass frame assembly is pivoted open by a delayed
ignition in the main burner, the glass frame assembly gaskets and
combustion chamber must be examined by a qualified service person
for damage. All damaged gaskets on the glass frame assembly and
combustion chamber must be replaced by a qualified service person.
If damage occurs to the combustion chamber, it must be replaced
by a qualified service person. Contact Empire Comfort Systems,
Inc. for replacement parts.
Glass Door Removal
1. Remove decorative front doors (where applicable) by opening
and lifting straight up.
2. Remove decorative front by tilting lower portion forward to
release ball catch and lifting front off mounting bracket.

3. Remove the decorative front by lifting up and pulling forward.
4. Remove the bottom louver by lifting up and pulling forward.
5. Located the bottom two glass frame spring clamps. Pull forward
and downward to release them from the Glass Door frame.
6. Remove the Glass Door by pulling the bottom of the door
outward several inches, then lift upwards to disengage it from
the firebox upper flange.
Glass Door Installation
1. When installing the Glass Door assembly, make sure that the
door top flange is hooked over the firebox top flange as illustrated
in the “Correct” view in Figure 77.
Important: Do not allow the gasket across the top of the
door to roll up on top of the firebox flange as shown in
“Incorrect” view in Figure 77.

2. To install correctly, the door should be held at an angle outward
from the firebox as shown in the illustration, then carefully engage
the upper flange of the door frame with the top flange of the
firebox. Center the door left to right, then allow the bottom of
the door to swing inward to seal against the firebox front.
3. Once the glass door is placed flat to the firebox front edges,
engage the two spring latches to the bottom flange on the glass
door frame to secure the door assembly.
4. Attach two glass frame clamps at bottom of firebox.
5. Replace decorative front by hooking front mounting brackets.
Be sure to lower front with slight angle to keep ball clasp from
scratching the front of appliance. Push in lower portion to lock
ball clasp.

6. Replace decorative front doors by aligning hinges over posts.
