6.2.2
Connecting the earth conductor
NOTE
If the outer earth conductor connection is used, the ability of the de-
vice to swivel and the surface temperature must be taken into ac-
count.
▪
The earth conductor must always be connected before all other
wires.
An earth conductor connection is respectively arranged in the termi-
nal box (
⇒
Section "Terminal box and terminal diagram") and directly
near the terminal box on the outside on the ELDRO
®
device. The in-
stallation of the earth conductor on the ELDRO
®
device is to be con-
ducted according to the applicable standards. The earth conductor
serves the purpose of lowering the contact voltage to a non-hazard-
ous level in the case of coiling and insulation damages, and switching
off the system in interaction with the monitoring unit. This can only be
reached given a sufficient dimensioning of the earth conductor, pro-
fessional installation and its intactness.
6.2.3
Connecting the energy supply
NOTE
Before the connection, check if the mains voltage and the mains
frequency is consistent with the specifications on the rating plate.
Keep the terminal box clean at all times.
Intactness and correct seat of the sealing elements have to be en-
sured on the terminal box.
After connecting, always close the terminal box lid tightly.
The M 25x 1.5 cable inlet is to be mounted professionally by the
operator in consideration of the IP protection class agreed accord-
ing to the rating plate.
Based on hydraulic principles, the motor power input to the mo-
tor will reduce when the piston has reached the end position.
This precludes overload. A thermal protective circuit is therefore
not required. If a motor circuit breaker is used nonetheless to
secure the ELDRO
®
devices, it is recommended to set the ther-
mal overcurrent trigger to 1.5-times the device current accord-
ing to the rating plate.
