22. Check the clearance between the entire gatero-

tor blade and the shelf, rotate the gaterotor to

find the tightest spot. It should be between 0.003-

0.004“(0.076-0.102 mm). Make adjustments, if
necessary. It is preferable to shim the gaterotor
blade looser rather than tighter against the shelf,
see Figure 5-26.

23. After clearance has been set install a new O-ring

(104-2) on ball bearing housing cover, install cover
(106), and tighten the bolts (112 and 113) to the
recommended torque values.

24. Install side cover with a new gasket. Tighten the

bolts to the recommended torque value. The unit
can then be evacuated, and leak checked.

Torque values for screws:

- 110: 20 ft-lbs
- 112: 35 ft-lbs
- 113: 10 ft-lbs

- 111: 20 ft-lbs (use blue Loctite)
