waste, it must be separated and taken to specified waste
disposal centres where the material will be recycled.
Demolition and disposal
When the machine reaches the end of its service life, do not
dispose of it into the environment; instead take it to a waste
disposal centre.
Most materials used in the manufacture of the machine are
recyclable; all metals (steel, aluminium, brass) can be
delivered to a normal recycling station. For information
contact your local waste recycling service. Waste disposal
must be carried out with respect for the environment,
avoiding soil, air and water pollution.
In all cases, applicable local legislation must be complied
with.
9. OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES ON REQUEST
1) Towing hitch
Required for towing accessories. To fix the towing hitch to the
machine it is necessary to remove the grass-catcher. Then fix
the towing hitch (Fig.22) to the rear plate using the two bolts
(A) and corresponding nuts.
WARNING
Fix the towing hitch securely to prevent the bolts from
-
loosening during towing.
Do not mow grass with towed accessories hitched to the
-
machine.
CAUTION:
Do not mow grass with the towing hitch
fitted; this could cause rapid blockage of the collector
channel.
2) Towed accessories:
2.1) Trailer for transporting materials (Fig.23): useful for
transporting various types of material.
2.2) Towable spreader (Fig.24): can be used to spread
manure or rock salt.
Safety rules
Remember that the trailer or spreader can cause injuries if
used improperly or if the user fails to understand how to
make them work correctly. Pay attention at all times when
using such accessories.
Read this manual and the manual supplied with the
1.
trailer / spreader, before assembly and use.
Read the manual of the machine to which the towed
2.
accessories will be hitched, so that you fully understand
how it works before using it.
It is strictly prohibited to transport people or animals on
3.
towed accessories. They are not designed to carry
passengers.
Do not allow children to operate the machine or its towed
4.
accessories.
Do not allow adults to operate the machine or towed
5.
accessories without adequate instructions.
When the machine is equipped with towed accessories,
6.
always start slowly and gradually increase the speed,
adapting it to the conditions of use.
Tow accessories slowly on uneven or hilly ground and
7.
near to streams and ditches, in order to prevent
overturning and loss of control. Do not drive near to
streams and ditches.
Towed accessories may cause stability problems when
8.
slowing down and stopping the vehicle that is towing
them. If the vehicle is stopped too suddenly, there is a risk
of it being struck by the load or the accessory itself. Do
not fill the towed accessory to its maximum weight
capacity (trailer 50 kg, spreader 29 litres) without
checking whether the towing vehicle and conditions of
use permit towing and stopping in total safety.
Before towing accessories on a slope, read the instructions
9.
for using the machine on sloping ground given on page 8
of this manual. Do not use towed accessories on very
steep slopes.
Do not tow accessories on, or even across, public
10.
roadways.
The speed of the machine when towing an accessory
11.
must be lower than the maximum speed of the machine
without towed accessories, which is 8,6 km/h.
Follow the instructions for maintenance and lubrication
12.
of towed accessories as described in this manual, to
ensure their optimum operation during work.
Mounting
For mounting see the relative trailer or spreader manuals.
Use
Also refer to the manual supplied with the towed
accessory.
WARNING
To prevent possible injuries, before fitting or detaching
-
a towed accessory from the machine, make sure there
are no bystanders in the vicinity. The same applies when
working.
Accessories must only be towed, never pushed.
-
Do not exceed the recommended transport capacities:
-
the maximum loads are 50 kg for the trailer and 29 litres
for the spreader.
For better use of towed accessories, distribute the load
-
evenly over the trailer’s tipper body or in the spreader’s
hopper. An excessive rear load increases the risk of
overturning.
- To attach the trailer or spreader using the towing hitch,
bring the end part of the frame on the accessory into contact
with the hitch on the machine, insert the pin in the two holes
on the base and lock in place with the cotter pin.
- Do some trial runs to get accustomed to driving the machine
with unladen towed accessories. Ascertain carefully what
speed you can work at and the stopping times of the machine
with accessories hitched. Also bear in mind that, with a fully
laden trailer or spreader hitched to the machine, the working
conditions are much more demanding.
Trailer
To unload material from the trailer’s tipper body, remove the
cotter pin and the pin that keep the body fixed to the frame.
When removing the pin, keep the tipper body handle pressed
with your other hand to prevent the body from tipping up
suddenly. Then pull the handle upward to unload the material.
NOTE: The handle is extractable to reduce the effort needed
for lifting. After emptying, push the handle down and lock the
tipper body in place by reinserting the pin and cotter pin.
