Maintaining your Hard Drive
Always back up your data files from your hard disk to a remote location
such as USB flash device, or internet based remote storage. You should
do this regularly to avoid any data loss.
Install an anti-virus program to monitor viruses that could tamper with
your files.
Use Windows SCANDISK occasionally to correct any errors found in the
directory and File Allocation Table. This will also free up space from any
unused sectors.
Never move your websurfer while the hard disk is being accessed, don't
jar the hard disk as this may cause the hard disc to crash.
Use hard disk maintenance programs like Windows Disk Defragmenter.
This reorganizes your hard disk by eliminating file fragmentation and
improving your hard disk access time.
