Adjustments
Thread Tension
The type of thread or fabric you use may
require the tensions to be adjusted.
Before changing tensions, make sure the
thread is properly engaged in the tension
discs.
Thread tensions are controlled by the color
coded dials - blue, red, yellow and green. Move
the dial that corresponds to the thread that
needs adjusting. (Larger numbers increase the
tension; smaller numbers decrease the tension.)
Adjust only one tension setting at a time and
then view the result before adjusting again.
3 or 4 Thread Overlock
Balanced Tension
4-thread - The needle threads should
resemble 2 parallel rows of straight stitches
on the topside of the fabric. One lies on the
left hand side of the upper looper thread. The
other lies 2 mm to the right of the first.
3-thread - The needle thread resembles a
straight stitch on the topside of the fabric
and lies on the left hand side of the upper
looper thread.
Needle thread is visible in the lower looper
thread on the underside of the fabric.
The upper looper thread should lie flat on
the topside of the fabric and lock with the
lower looper thread on the edge of the fabric.
The lower looper thread should lie flat on
the underside of the fabric and lock with the
upper looper thread on the edge of the fabric.
