VOR
FREQ
This mode has been specially optimized for VOR radial intercept at a short distance from the VOR
station, for VOR approach and climbout procedures at low speed, for the VOR station pasage at
low altitude without signifi cant course modifi cation at the station and for very accurate radial hold.
Seen from the cockpit, operation of this mode is identical to the VOR mode.
However, if the interception point of the radial is detected as in VOR mode, the adopted piloting
laws are those of the LOC function, and the OSS phase lasts only 10 seconds instead of 45.
As for all coupled modes, beep-trim, stick release, are disabled as soon as sthe coupled mode is
effective.
