15.2.3 VOR Radial Tracking
The helicopter is slaved to the VOR radial as soon as its fl ight path meets the radial. It will smoothly
roll out and track the radial with crosswind corrections.

If the NAV (VOR) fl ag comes into view on the HSI while tracking the VOR radial, the VOR mode is
automatically decoupled, the roll FD command bar bias out of view, the CPL light fl ases for 10 sec-
onds and the AP keeps the helicopter at zero roll attitude and reverts to present heading hold. If the
invalid condition clears itself, the pilot reengages the VOR mode to resume automatic coupling.
