6. ROUTINE SERVICING
Purpose & Scope:
To ensure full and correct servicing of ELGA LabWater Equipment by ELGA
Approved Service Engineers

Instructions:
6.1 View the equipment with the client and discuss any operational difficulties, which
may have occurred since the last service visit.
6.2 Inspect the whole system for leaks.
6.3 Complete a fouling index test on the feed water and record the result (UHQ II only).
6.4 Complete a chlorine test on the feed water and record the result (UHQ II only).
6.5 Investigate and replace from the client’s stock as necessary any consumable items.
6.6 Measure and record concentrate flow. This should be 1.1 litres per minute (+/- 10%
at 15
°
C and 4 bar inlet pressure).
6.7 Measure and record RO permeate flow. This should be 4 litres per hour (+/- 10% at
25
°
C and 4 bar inlet pressure).
6.8 Disconnect outlet tube from each RO cartridge in turn and measure and record
permeate conductivity from each RO module.
6.9 Measure and record feed water conductivity.
6.10
Using values obtained at steps 6.7 – 6.9 calculate performance of the RO
cartridge and advise client accordingly (UHQ II only).
NOTE: If ion rejection falls to <90% the UHQ5 RO cartridge should be replaced
6.11 Check operation of level controls on the reservoir tank.

Inspect and clean line cell.
6.13
Check calibration of unit (refer to Section 9).
Note: During calibration the front cover must be removed to gain access to the control
PCB and this exposes the operator to the UV source.
WARNING!
THE UV LAMP MUST BE DISABLED BY REMOVING THE UV
STARTER BEFORE SWITCHING POWER ON WITH THE
FRONT PANEL REMOVED.

Carry out sanitization of system if required by client in accordance with
Operator’s
Handbook.
