4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND FLOW DIAGRAMS
The UHQ II contains an RO module and is designed to be fed with potable tap
water at mains pressure. There is no facility for a boost pump so the performance
of the RO will depend entirely on the feed water pressure and temperature.
The optimum performance of 4 litres per hour RO permeate requires the feed
water to be at 4 bar (60 psi) and 25
°
C.
NOTE: Where the feed water into the UHQ II unit is below 4 bar pressure or 25
°
C
permeate flow will be significantly lower AND permeate conductivity will be
significantly higher.
For example at 3 bar feed pressure the permeate flow will reduce by 25% but the
conductivity will increase by as much as 30%. This will result in a 25 to 30%
reduction in UHQ1 DI cartridge capacity.
All units:

The feed water enters the unit via the “inlet” bulkhead connector and the inlet
solenoid valve.
UHQ II only:

When the “Fill” button is pressed on the front panel, the inlet solenoid valve opens,
the RED fill light illuminates and water passes directly to the UHQ5 RO module
inlet.
4.3
Concentrate from the UHQ5 cartridge outlet is connected to the drain flow
controller and then to the drain bulkhead connector.
4.4
Permeate water flows from the outlet connection of the RO cartridge directly into
the top of the on-board reservoir.
