2 GENERAL
2.1 INTRODUCTION
This information is written for the purpose of being read, un-
derstood and observed in all points by those responsible for
the Elektror ventilator. The complete technical information
should always be kept in safe place close to the ventilator.
This operating manual points out particularly important de-
tails about using the Elektror ventilator.
2.2 GENERAL ADVICE
Adhere to the advice given in this operating manual.
• The basic precondition for troublefree operation of this
ventilator and handling in accordance with safe practice, is
a knowledge of the basic safety rules and regulations.
• This operating manual contains the essential advice for
operating the ventilator in a safe manner.
• This operating manual, and especially the safety instruc-
tions, are to be observed by all persons who work on the
ventilator.
• On top of this, the accident-prevention rules and regulati-
ons that apply at the installation site are to be observed.
2.3 ADDITIONAL ADVICE
Warranty and liability
As a basic principle our “General Terms and Conditions of
Supply” shall apply. These shall be available to the owner at
the latest when the contract is concluded. Claims under war-
ranty or for liability in relation to persons or material damage
shall be excluded if they are attributable to one or more of the
following causes:
• Use of the ventilator other than as intended.
• Installation, commissioning, operation or servicing of the
ventilator not performed properly
• Operation of the ventilator when the safety or protective
devices are faulty, not working properly or not
fi
tted properly
• Non-adherence to the operating instructions that belong to
this ventilator
• Unauthorised constructional modi
fi
cations to the ventilator
• Unauthorised alteration of the performance data (e.g.
drive ratios, performance and rotational speed) of the ven-
tilator
• De
fi
cient monitoring of ventilator parts that are sub-
ject to wear
• Repairs not performed properly
• Catastrophic events due to the effect of a foreign body or
an act of God
3 SAFETY
3.1 IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ADHERE TO THE
FOLLOWING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR
WORKING
Basic safety instructions
The ventilator will run troublefree and safely if it is used as in-
tended and the impeller is cleaned regularly. But if the speci-
fi
ed external conditions are not observed, there is a risk:
• to life and limb of persons who are near to the ventilator
• to the ventilator and other material assets of the owner
• to the ef
fi
cient working of the ventilator
All persons who are involved in installation, commissioning
and maintenance, must attentively read, understand and ob-
serve the following advice. Your safety depends on it!
Obligation of the owner
The owner undertakes to allow only such persons to work on
the ventilator, who
• are familiar with the basic occupational safety and acci-
dent prevention regulations and have received instruction
in working on and using with the ventilator
• have read and understood the safety chapter and warning
instructions in this manual, and con
fi
rmed this by their sig-
nature.
• Checks shall be performed at regular intervals to ensure
personnel are working in a safety-conscious way.
Obligation of personnel
Before starting work on the ventilator, all persons so as-
signed undertake to:
• observe the basic regulations about occupational safety
and accident prevention
• have read and understood the safety chapter and warning
instructions in this manual, and con
fi
rmed this by their sig-
nature
• all safety and danger signs on the machine must be main-
tained in legible condition
