Caution!
Oils, grease and other contaminants can cause
falls with resulting injuries. The area around the
ventilator must be clean before work is started.
Danger!
When a hot medium is conveyed, those parts
that lie outside of the insulation are just a shot
as the medium itself! You could suffer burns.
Delay starting work until the ventilator has cooled
down.
Important!
Make sure that the ventilator to be serviced is
safe. Maintain good posture when working. Use a
crane to lift heavy parts.
Important!
The ability to concentrate is reduced when the
working environment is very hot or very cold.
Watch out for audible or visual warning signs
from adjoining parts of the equipment!
9.2 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
Cleaning, Maintenance
The ventilator must be regularly inspected to detect any
damage long before total failure. Use only totally insulated
electrical equipment for maintenance!
Maintenance work is due if:
• the ventilator impeller has become unbalanced due to
irregular
usage
• foreign bodies have been sucked in and caused damage
to the impeller or housing
• dirt on the pressure- or suction side safety grille is causing
increased resistance to the air
fl
ow
• the vibration dampers are rusty, or the rubber is damaged
or
fatigued
• relubrication of the motor bearings is overdue
• increased BCU values on the motor bearings indicate their
demise
• observe the motor documentation!
Danger!
Severe vibration of the impeller can lead to
endurance fracture! The impeller can
fl
y asunder!
Parts
fl
ying out could kill or severely injure you!
Check the ventilator regularly for vibration and, if
necessary, clean the impeller. Where abrasive or
corrosive media is being conveyed and a loss of
material is detected, a replacement part must be
obtained. Regular inspection is essential.
9.3 CLEANING
Impeller
Soiled conveying media may wet the impeller unevenly and
thereby lead to imbalance. The oscillations picked up at the
bearing must not permanently exceed 8 mm/s. In this case
the impeller must be cleaned with a steam jet, for example.
9.4 MAINTAINING THE MOTOR
Motors up to BG 200 have bearings of the permanently-
greased type. It is recommended that these bearings are
cleaned or replaced every 2 years.
Motors from BG 225 onwards have a regreasing device (re-
fer to the motor manufacturer‘s operating instructions about
this).
9.5 ORDERING SPARE PARTS
Please always order according to order number or rating
plate.
Replacement parts not supplied by us are unapproved by us.
The manufacturer excludes all liability for loss or injury aris-
ing from the use of such parts.
