MDS 50
Metal detector MDA 010. may only be used to scan textiles.
Metal detector MDS 50 locates mag ne tic and non-mag netic metal
particles on moving webs. It is suitable for dry textile materials and
non-wovens up to 4 mm thick. The web speed may lie between 3 and
200 meters per minute.
Only use the metal detector
- when in a technically perfect state
- for approved applications
- taking into account the safety recommendations and possible dan-
gers listed in the operating instructions.
Work related to the operation, conversion or setting of the metal
detector, its maintenance and repair may be carried out by qualified
personnel only. Please observe the ON/OFF switching procedures in
the operating instructions.
Look after this operating manual carefully and make sure it is avail-
able to personnel at all times.
The operating manual is part of the package and should be read
carefully prior to mounting, operation and maintenance.
Never
touch the edges of moving webs.
Never
touch live parts.
When mounting the metal detector, the safety clearances stipulated
by the locally applicable and professional safety regulations (e.g.
ISO 11 111, EN 292, EN 349) must be observed.
The probe must not be mechanically stressed. It must not be used
ei ther as a ladder or support during servicing or as a depositing sur-
face.
Run electrical leads according to the attached wiring diagram, ob-
serving the cross-section and protection instructions. Run signal
leads away from noisy or heavy current-carrying leads (e.g. motor
cables).
Please ensure that:
- electrical components without enclosures such as switch panels
or command devices are protected according to the locally appli-
cable safety regulations e.g. VDE 0100,
- when running electrical cables that the insulation is not damaged
and the cables correctly secured and protected machine switch,
Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that specified on the
type plate.
