3.4.4. NO filters
Besides the limitations for use of the various types of masks (taking as threshold limit the lower value resulting between
the two), NO filters can be used in case of concentrations of contaminant up to 2500 ml/m
3
(0,25 Vol. % = 2500 ppm).
3.4.5. CO filters
CO filters with the identification ‘CO20’ may be used once for a total of 20 minutes for protection even if carbon monoxide
in not present in the atmosphere during use. CO filters with the identification ‘CO60’ may be used once for a total of 60
minutes for even if carbon monoxide in not present in the atmosphere during use. Carbon monoxide is odourless,
tasteless and does not irritate the airways. Only use CO filters in accordance with the duty period of use specified on the
marking. The end of the duty period of use cannot be determined otherwise.
Important note:
Regardless of their time-limited protective effect against CO and NO, multi-use filters can be used
beyond the duty period of use for these substances to provide protection against the other specified substances.
3.4.6. SX filters
Filter type
Maximum concentration
Maximum time of use
SX
5000 ml/m
3
= 0.5 Vol. % = 5000 ppm
20 minutes
Combined filters for protection against special gases and vapours are classified according to the filter capacity of the SX
P1, SX P2, SX P3 particle filtering side(see above paragraph "Particle filters") and taking into account the limits of
protection of the masks. SX filters must only be used once.
4.
Filter connector
SEKUR filters can be combined with masks as follows:
SEKUR filters
SEKUR masks
with EN 148/1 screw threaded connector:
series 230, 300, 500 et 530 DIRIN filters
with EN 148/1 crew threaded connector
C607 and SFERA full face masks;
Polimask 330 and Polimask 2000 alfa half masks
With EN 148/1 screw threaded connector:
Series 230 (code 4338.3220)
Polimask 330 and Polimask 2000 alfa half masks
With snap-on connector or special thread:
Series 230 (class 1, 2 gas filter, class P1, P2, P3 particle filters and their combinations)
Polimask 230 and Polimask 2000 gamma half
masks
With snap-on connector or special thread:
Series 200 (small filters) (class 1, 2 gas filters, class P2, P3 particle filters and their
combinations)
The masks must be always used with a pair of filters of the same type, which must both
be replaced even if unused.
Polimask 100/2 and Polimask 2000 beta half
masks;
C607 Twin full face mask
5.
Storage and maintenance
SEKUR filters should be stored in a place at temperature range between 2°C and 55°C, with humidity lower than 80%
and away by significant vibration sources. The filters should be protected from the solar radiation, oxidant agents, shocks
and risk of falling down. Avoid contact with ketones, esters, hydrocarbons, acids and strong bases, high pressure fluids,
liquids. The expiry date of the filter is indicated on the filter itself, on condition that it is property kept in its original
packaging. Once opened, gas and combined filters must be used within 6 months, and only if the filters have been stored
in their original packaging, with the cap inserted and according to the storage instructions. Pay attention not to store filters
with traces of dirt on the air inlet. AX, SX and NO P3 filters must be used only once. If transported and stored in their
original packaging, SEKUR filters do not require any maintenance.
Note
: the filter of series 230/ DIRIN 230/ series 200 must not be used if during the use they come in contact with organic
substances which effect structure of the filter body.
