Cannot connect to the E-42B with Command WorkStation
If a problem occurs while you are connecting to the E-42B, an error message is displayed.
The problem can occur when:
• The E-42B is initially turned on.
• The E-42B restarts.
• You have changed settings affecting the server address and have not reconfigured the
connection to the server.
If you experience this problem, try the following solutions, in this order:
• A remote computer running utilities or WebTools may be interfering by obtaining status
information. If possible, close the remote application, and try to connect again.
• Restart the Command WorkStation software and try to connect again.
• Restart the E-42B.
Testing email printing
This diagnostic tool allows you to perform a quick test of the E-42B email feature. The Test
E-mail diagnostic causes the system to send an email to itself. You review the results of the test
by printing an E-mail log from the Functions menu.

1 Press the Fiery button on the copier control panel.
2 On the copier control panel, press the Fiery tab.
3 Press the Login button and log on as Administrator with the appropriate password.
4 Choose Run Diagnostics.
5 Choose Check email System.
6 After the test is complete, return to the Fiery menu and choose Printable Pages.
7 Choose E-mail Log.
The E-42B sends the email Log to the copier/printer.
8 On the email Log, locate the results of the test in the Status column.
A successful transmission indicates that the E-42B is able to send an email over the network.
A failed transmission indicates a problem with the E-42B Setup options. Confirm that the
Setup options specified are correct.
