SETTING UP
4.6 PREPARATION
Attention
: Units are shipped with membranes already installed in pressure vessels!
1.
Install the prefilter cartridge, supplied with the unit.
2. Make sure the power cord is not plugged in to the wall socket.
3. Turn on the water supply to the unit.
4.
Check installation for water leaks and make fitting adjustments, as required, to eliminate leaks.
5. Disconnect the product line from the storage tank or equipment to be fed and direct line to drain.
6. Check that the pump runs in the right direction. This direction is indicated by arrows on top of the engine.
7. Plug the power cord into the appropriate wall socket. Turn the main power switch on. The inlet solenoid
valve will open and water will flow into the unit. The R.O. pump will operate after 20 seconds and the unit
is in service.
8.
Switch the device off.
4.7
SETTINGS AND INITIAL FLUSHING
4.7.1 DETERMINATION OF PRODUCTION AND WASTE FLOW RATES
1. Fully open the drain valve
2. Close the recycle valve completely
3. Guide the permeate line to the drain
4.
Turn on the reverse osmosis and determine the drain flow by turning the drain valve until the desired flow
rate is reached.
Attention
: When determining the drain flow rate, ensure that the pressure does not exceed 14 bar. If
necessary, turn the recycle valve open slowly to reduce the pressure.
5.
When the drain rate is determined, turn the recycle valve further open until the desired production flow is
reached.
Attention
: Write down the membrane pressure after the production flow rate is determined.
6.
Turn the drain valve until the desired drain flow rate is reached
7. Turn the recycle valve until the membrane pressure again reaches the value noted in step 6.
After all flow rates have been set, allow the device to run for +/- 30 minutes while all water runs to the drain.
After these 30 minutes, turn off the device and reconnect the permeate line to the storage tank. The device
is now fully ready and can be taken into service.
4.8
AUTO FLUSH SETTING (OPTIONAL)
The automatic rinsing of the membranes is controlled by a timer (programmed in the electronic controller).
When the device is in standby position (full storage tank), a rinse will take place every 5 hours for 30 seconds.
Water flows at high flow and low pressure across the membranes. In this way, the membranes are cleaned
and the dirt is drained to the sewer.
4.9
RUN DRY SAFETY
To prevent the pump from running dry if there is insufficient supply of water, a low pressure switch is provided.
This will turn off the reverse osmosis if the incoming water pressure is too low. This switch is located at the
output of the input valve and is regulated so that the reverse osmosis is turned off if the pressure falls below
0.7 bar.
