4.4.3 OTHER FUNCTIONS
All other functions of the electronic controller were determined by EcoWater. These may and may not be
modified to ensure proper operation of the device at all times. If it is found that the electronic controller has
been tampered with, EcoWater’s warranty / liability expires.
The only key on the electronic controller that you may use is the ▲ button to (re)start the reverse osmosis. All
other keys are only used for Programming purposes and have no other function.

AUTOMATIC OPERATION
Connections are provided inside the electrical cabinet for installation of a liquid level sensor or a pressure
sensor. These will allow and control automatic operation. Make a connection to allow the unit to operate wit-
hout the use of a level or pressure sensor.
Operation of the unit without the use of a level or pressure
sensor, regardless of the model type, will be strictly manual and must be monitored constantly. The
operator must manually turn the unit on and off.
Automatic operation of the unit will occur when the level or pressure (max. 4 bar and protected with a no-
return valve) in the storage tank decreases to the pre-set value. When this occurs the sensor will complete the
230-VAC control circuit. The control circuit will activate the inlet solenoid and pump motor, on condition that
the R.O. power switch has been turned on. Conversely, when the level or pressure in the storage tank incre-
ases to the pre-set value, the sensor will cut the circuit. Voltage is subsequently cut off to the inlet solenoid
and pump motor causing them to deactivate.
When using a non-pressurized tank for product storage, a floater should be used to operate the R.O. When
using a pressurized tank for product storage, a pressure sensor should be used to operate the R.O. (2 – 4
bar range recommended). In either case, all models must use a sensor with a high and low activation point
with an adequate deadband to prevent the R.O. from turning on and off too frequently. Make sure the sensor’s
voltage and current ratings are such that the unit’s voltage requirement and current consumption fall within
these ratings.
NOTE
: Make sure that the main power switch is in the “off” position when making wire connections. Failure to
do so may result in material and /or physical damage.
NOTE
: When connecting automatic shut-off controls to Reverse Osmosis systems it is important that the
control provide a “dead band” large enough that the R.O. system must run a minimum of 30 minutes before
shutting down. It is also important that the shut-off control provides a definite on/off connection. If the system
is allowed to quickly turn on and off repeatedly, failure of the R.O. components will occur. These components
include, but are not limited to, the pump, motor and relay.
