filling and venting the water heater
6. Filling and venting of the water heater
6.1 Flushing the pland
Prior to initial start-up the entire
system should be thoroughly
flushed. Foreign particles in
the system adversely affect the
system‘s operational readiness and
safety.
6.2 Filling the storage tank and
secondary circuit
(Refer to diagram in section 2.4)
●
set the safety valve trigger pressure
(note manufacturer’s instructions).
the safety valve should respond at
the latest on reaching the
permissible operating pressure.
●
set the pressure reducing valve
to approx. 8 times of the safety
valve trigger pressure (not
manufacturer’s instructions).
●
Connect the pressure gauge at
the pressure gauge connection
piece. supervise the tank pressure
during charging.
●
On the tank, open the shut-off
valves for ventilation, hot water
discharge, circulation pipeline in
connection to the tube bundle heat
exchanger.
●
Close the drain valve, open the
cold water shut-off valve and
slowly fill the tank.
●
if only water escapes, close
the ventilation valve and the hot
water tapping valves.
●
Vent the hot water pump by
manual rotation by a few turns.
●
open the hot water discharge
shut-off valve and close the hot
water tapping valves.
●
Vent the safety valve until only
water escapes.
●
Check the water pipes on
tightness.
6.3 Filling and venting the
primary circuit
(Refer to picture 1 in section 2.4)
●
Slowly fill the primary circuit with
water and vent it.
●
Open the shut-off valves in the
primary circuit feed and return line
to the heat exchanger.
Steam boiler circuit:
To avoid initial steam flashbacks, do
not fully open the flow valve at
first.
●
open the control valve in the
primary circuit only.
●
Vent the heating water pump
(Economizer model type EH only)
by manual rotation by a few turns.
●
Check that the primary circuit piping
is free of leakages.
