9.3.3 Pivoting the Handlamp head
Thanks to the pivoting torch head with a swivel range from –0° to 90°, the Handlamp can
be operated both in horizontal and vertical positions of varying degrees. Refer to Fig. 7.
The Handlamp head can be moved by simply turning it at the provided handle. This al-
lows for an adjustment to compensate for bevel surfaces. Angles exceeding 5° however
impair the stability of the spotlight.
The centre of gravity of the Handlamp is positioned directly under the handle. When the
SHL 300-Ex is carried, the Handlamp head should be rotated to the 90° position. The
Handlamp can then be conveniently carried over longer distances without fatigue.
9.3.4 Dimmer function and full capacity
By pressing the central ON switch x (refer to Fig.), the Handlamp is initially switched
to an illumination power of 50%. By pressing the switch again, the Handlamp is operated
with an illumination power of 00% The operating time can be considerably extended by
using the dimmer mode (switch position ).
9.3.5 Flashing light
The flashing light is activated by pressing the central ON switch (Refer to Fig. )
three times.
9.3.6 Use of colour and diffusing filters
The optional diffusing and colour filters can be used for either wide, scattered light
cone or signalling tasks. The compartment for the diffusing filters is located below the
Handlamp head. (See Fig. 5). The diffusing filters can be removed by opening the filter
compartment. To install the diffusing filters at the Handlamp head, simply insert the filters
into the provided fixture. Refer to Fig. 5. To engage the filters, apply gentle pressure. To
remove them, proceed in reverse order. After use, replace the filters into the filter com-
partment. Refer to Fig. 5. This compartment can take up three filters. – which must only
be diffusing and colour filters approved by ecom instruments.
