5.2 Main menu access and operating mode configuration
Changing the operating mode (and other configurable parameters) is possible via the Main Menu, which can be
accessed using the
controller’s
keypad. To access the Main Menu, scroll though the fan status pages using the
BACK button until the status of the first fan is shown. The Main Menu can then be accessed from there by pressing
the BACK button twice. See
In cases where it is desirable to prevent unauthorised access to the main menu, please see
for details on how to activate the main menu lock and the key sequence to allow
authorised access.
IMPORTANT
The
“Operating Mode” submenu
will only become available inside the main menu once all fans have been
addressed. The main menu is intended for configuration purposes only -
the entire controller’s monitor and/or
control operations will be halted whilst in any of its submenus except
‘Set Speed’ submenu.
After 5 minutes of inactivity inside the main menu
or any of its submenus (except the “Diagnostics Menu”) the
controller will power cycle and resume its normal monitor and/or control operations.
Most changes made in the main menu and its submenus (either locally or remotely via the Modbus Slave Port)
will trigger a power reset to both fans and controller, required to activate the new parameters.
5.3 Monitor mode (default operation)
In
“
Monitor
”
operating mode, the fans are following a speed control command from a separate source connected
to each fan’s 0
-10V input. The controller acts as a monitoring device where it extracts information from each fan
via Modbus and displays on the LCD screen. This information is also available to an external Modbus Master device
connected to the controller’s Modbus Slave Port, typically a BMS.
It is possible to monitor either a pressure differential or calculate the real-time volume flow by using an external
differential pressure sensor connected to the
controller’s 0
-10V input. This information is displayed in the Power
Meter and Summary Screen, see
4.5 Power meter and summary screen.
A typical wiring diagram for Monitor operating mode is shown below. The pressure sensor connection is optional.

CAUTION:
Risk of damaging the fans if two power supplies are connected at the same time
Do not connect
fans’ 10VDC
output to the controller if the controller is powered from an external power
supply.
