Eaton Shift Lever
•
The OEM harness shift lever mating connector shall consist of the following connector systems:

The OEM harness Eaton Shift Lever mating connector system shall comprise of:

Deutsch P/N DTM06-08SA Connector Body
•
Deutsch P/N WM-8S Wedge-Lock
•
Deutsch gold plated Size 20 contacts for use with the DTM06-08SA connector body
•
Deutsch P/N 0413-204-2005 Filer Plug (optional for in-cab environments)
•
The insulation outside diameter of the connector shall comply with Deutsch requirements for the selected contact.
•
The OEM harness Eaton Shift Lever mating harness cable (wire) diameters shall be compliant with the following
insulation diameter requirements:
General Requirements
•
For connector systems that contain transmission signals or power sources, unused connectors shall have sealed
mating connectors connected to the unused connector or the unused connector shall be plugged with a sealed plug.
•
For connector systems that contain transmission signals or power sources, unused terminal cavities shall be plugged
with cavity plugs (filler plugs) for out of cab environments.
•
No anti-seize, lubricating, or foreign compound shall be applied to the connector jackscrew threads, including NyoGel
760G. Rational: The use of such compounds may affect jackscrew torque and prevent proper sealing of the connector.
•
Minimum wire gauge of 18 AWG shall be used for transmission signals except where mechanical reliability of 20 AWG
wire harnessing can be demonstrated.
•
All crimp contacts for connectors mating with Eaton components shall meet the supplier of the connector system's
crimp requirements.
•
For OEM harnesses that tie to transmission attachment points, tie wrap application and tightness shall conform to
Section 14.1.1 of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, January
2002 revision or later.
•
For OEM harnesses that tie to transmission attachment points, tie wrap application shall meet the Target and Defect of a
Class 3 product per IPC/WHMA-A-620.
•
All electrical power and signals referenced in italics shall be routed through an environmentally protected electrical
system to end point(s) of the signal.
Note:
The intent is that all signal connections are sealed where they may be exposed to water. Observation of proper
wire sizing and connector sealing practices should be followed.
